FBR Decides Against Extending Income Tax Return Deadline

Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has officially announced that the deadline for submitting income tax returns will not be extended beyond the current date.

An FBR spokesperson clarified that taxpayers have been given ample time to file their returns, with the deadline set for September 30. Despite requests from various quarters, the government has decided that there will be no further extensions.

The FBR emphasized the importance of timely submissions, urging individuals and businesses to meet the deadline to avoid penalties. Additionally, the spokesperson highlighted that new government measures are being introduced to deter non-filers from making property purchases. These initiatives are part of broader efforts to enhance tax compliance and improve revenue collection.

Taxpayers are advised to file their returns promptly to avoid legal action, as the government aims to strengthen the financial system through stricter enforcement of tax laws.
