The Pakistani government has recently announced new passport fee structures for different types of passports, including e-passports, machine-readable passports (MRP), and lost passport replacements. This change aims to simplify the fee schedule and make the process more transparent for all Pakistani passport holders.
For a 5-year e-passport with 36 pages, the regular fee is set at PKR 3,000, while the urgent service will cost PKR 15,000. For a 10-year e-passport, the fee is higher, starting at PKR 13,500 for regular processing and PKR 24,750 for urgent requests. The price for a 75-page passport ranges from PKR 16,500 for regular to PKR 40,500 for urgent service.
The machine-readable passports (MRP) also have a new pricing structure. For a 5-year MRP with 36 pages, the regular fee is PKR 4,500, while urgent processing will cost PKR 7,500. For fast-track service, the fee rises to PKR 13,500. The 10-year, 72-page MRP fees range from PKR 6,700 for regular processing to PKR 16,200 for fast-track.
Additionally, the government has implemented separate charges for lost passports, with a first-time loss costing PKR 54,000, and a third-time loss reaching as high as PKR 356,000.
This revision in passport fees is intended to streamline the application process and cater to various needs, whether for e-passports, MRPs, or replacing lost passports.
This version maintains key details while improving readability and incorporating relevant PK passport-related keywords.
